Acoustic Kits

Main Kit

My current main gigging kit is based on a DW Design series Frequent Flyer kit.  It comprises a 20" Kick, 12" rack tom and 14" floor tom. I've added 10" and 13" rack toms as well as a 16" floor tom (not pictured). LP Mini Timbales round it out.  The snare is a DW Collectors Nickel over Brass 14" x 5.5".  This kit (or bits of it) have been used for recording on a few albums.

Mini Kit

When the gig/venue calls for a smaller footprint or sound, then I use my DW Mini Pro with the 18" kick.

Cajon Kit

And when things need to get real small and chill, the cajon kick kit fits the bill...  I'm too old to bend over and play the cajon properly :)

Vintage Rock Kit

And when I need that big kick sound, I pull out the vintage (early 80's) Tama Superstar Mahogany  24".

...and yes, I've converted the tom mount to a DW to make it compatible with my stands.

Electronic gear

I have a range of e-kits mainly used for rehearsals at the home studio so as not to annoy the neighbours too much, that is until the guitarists get involved...

Roland TD-30  |  TD-27KV  |  SPD-SX Sampling Pad  |  TM-6

The TM-6 I use with triggers over the accoustic kit(s) or to add extra percussion for some shows as well.  Mainly for the tribute band stuff...

Cymbals

I have way too many of all shapes and sizes...  I'll mainly use the Sabian HHX's and I really love my Sabian Artisan ride.  But I have a smattering of other brands when a particular sound is required.
